About the Role / Role Overview
As a Secondary ECT, you will teach your specialist subject(s) to Key Stages 3 and 4 pupils, delivering dynamic and engaging lessons that ignite curiosity and achievement. You will be supported by experienced mentors and benefit from structured development to help you complete your induction successfully.
Responsibilities of the Secondary ECT:
Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Track and monitor student progress to ensure high levels of attainment.
Work collaboratively with department teams and senior leaders.
Reflect on practice and respond to feedback as part of professional development.
Uphold the highest standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and classroom management.
Requirements of the Secondary ECT:
A recognised UK teaching qualification with QTS or ECT.
Experience as an Early Career Teacher in a secondary school setting.
Specialism in any secondary subject (English, Maths, Science, Humanities, etc.).
Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum and assessment methods.
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
A proactive and reflective approach to teaching, with a willingness to learn and develop.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
