Job Type: Day-to-day, Long-term, and Permanent

Are you an experienced Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant planning your next move for the 2025/26 academic year? Stafflex Education is now registering candidates for a variety of exciting opportunities starting from September across secondary schools and academies in Kirklees and Calderdale.
We work in partnership with a wide range of supportive schools seeking committed and skilled support staff for long-term placements and flexible cover roles.
About the Role
As a Secondary SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis, often working with students with additional needs such as autism (ASD), ADHD, or SEMH. You will help to deliver lesson content, encourage positive behaviour, and foster a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will also work alongside teachers and SENDCOs to help meet each student's learning and emotional needs.

Requirements
Recent experience supporting secondary-aged pupils, particularly those with SEND or SEMH needs
Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in education, childcare, or learning support
Effective behaviour management and a calm, empathetic approach
A full and detailed CV covering the last 10 years (with explanations for any gaps)
Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply
Two professional references (and overseas police checks, if applicable)
Legal right to work in the UK
Willingness to attend a face-to-face registration interview
