SEND Teaching Assistant - Leeds High School
Start Date: October 2025 | Full-Time | Temp to Perm Opportunity
Veritas Education are working with a secondary school in Leeds to recruit a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting in October. This position offers the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Role Overview:
You will be supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups, assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum and managing behaviour positively.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEND
Assist in lesson delivery and classroom activities
Encourage pupil development both academically and emotionally
Help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 months' experience in a UK school setting
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
