Secondary Supply Teacher – South Wales
Are you an experienced or newly qualified Secondary Teacher seeking flexible, ad hoc teaching opportunities? We are looking for passionate and dedicated Secondary Supply Teachers to work in schools across South East Wales, including Merthyr Tydfil and surrounding areas. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including Year 7, 8, 9, and GCSE classes, in a variety of educational settings.
Key Responsibilities
As a Secondary Supply Teacher, you will lead classrooms for students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, managing behaviour effectively in line with school policies. Your duties will include preparing classrooms for lessons, delivering engaging lessons aligned with the national curriculum, and supporting student learning through both classroom and lab-based activities. You will also be responsible for supporting learners to reach their academic potential, both independently and through tailored schemes of work when required.
Essential Requirements
* A minimum of 1 year teaching experience, although some exceptions may apply for Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs)
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or overseas equivalent
* Registration as a teacher with the Education Workforce Council or willingness to register (support provided)
* Ability to provide references covering the last two years without gaps
* A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
* Right to work in the UK
