English Specialist Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Lewisham
Full Time | Term Time Only | Immediate Start
Up to £120 per day | Long Term Role (Temp to Perm)
Long Term Futures are working with a well-resourced and forward-thinking secondary school in Lewisham to appoint a Teaching Assistant with a strong background in English or Languages for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, both in class and through targeted intervention sessions. This is an ideal role for a recent English or related degree graduate, or someone with teaching ambitions, who is looking to gain long-term experience in a supportive school before moving into teacher training or further study.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students across a range of subjects with a focus on literacy and English
Work 1:1 or in small groups with students who require additional academic support
Assist with lesson delivery, engagement strategies, and progress tracking
Help build student confidence and encourage independent learning
Liaise with teaching staff and the SEN team to identify and meet student needs
Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environmentIdeal Candidate Will Have:
A degree in English, Language or a related subject
Experience working with KS3 and KS4 students in an academic setting
A calm, professional and proactive approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine interest in supporting student learning and developmentLocation and Transport - Lewisham, South East London
Accessible via Lewisham, Catford and Ladywell stations
