Job Description
Elvet Recruitment are recruiting a Civil Section Engineer on behalf of an international tier 1 civil engineering contractor to work on a new £200m+ major highways project around the Stalybridge area.
The contractor has a huge name in the industry for quality & delivering results for clients across the UK & further afield. They are looking to add to their team with the addition of another Section Engineer, initially working on a new major highways project (3 years duration). This high profile project will encompass: FRC works / structures, drainage, earthworks, highways infrastructure, utilities etc. It will be a key piece of infrastructure to the local area for years to come!
With a constantly growing pipeline of further work across the North of England constantly. Project values with this team are typically £50m to £1bn+.
On offer is also the opportunity to take advantage of this industry leading contractor's major development plan for engineering staff with realistic accessible progression routes to management. They are passionate about development so constantly fund additional qualifications & offer chartership routes with ICE to their staff.
Duties/Responsibilities include:
* Complex setting out & checking of other Engineer's setting out
* Manage Graduate, Assistant & Site Engineers on a section of works
* Produce Construction Phase Plans and weekly programmes
* Detailed QA & ITP's
* Identify & raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's)
* Management of sub-contractors
* Address & resolve Technical Queries
* Labour & plant reconciliations
* Temporary Works supervision & briefings
* Coordinate STATS, utilities & basic lifting operations
Experience required:
* Must have experience working as Site Engineer & Section Engineer ideally on: highways, structures, deep drainage, RC works etc.
* Must have experience working as principal contractor on projects £10m+
* Industry related qualification (Degree or HNC/HND) desired
* Must hold: CSCS and SSSTS / SMSTS
* Ideally holds: Temporary Works Supervisor / Coordinator, CAT & Genny (or equivalent), First Aid etc.
Remuneration:
A salary of up to £55,000 (dependant upon experience) plus:
Company vehicle, annual leave & option to buy/sell 5 days, 7% pension, healthcare for family and much more.
