Job Description
Control Room Operative (Nights) – Alarm Receiving Centre
Location: Wavertree, Liverpool
Shift Pattern: 6pm – 6am, 4 on / 4 off
Our client is seeking an experienced Control Room Operative to join their team on night shifts at their state-of-the-art Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) in Wavertree, Liverpool.
Ideally, applicants will hold a dual SIA licence (CCTV + Security Guarding or Door Supervisor) and must possess a full UK manual driving licence. The role occasionally involves responding to incidents across the North West alongside the mobile response team, so flexibility and readiness to travel are essential.
About the Role
This is not your average control room. Our client operates one of the few certified Alarm Receiving Centres in the North West—and the only one in Merseyside accredited to the highest industry standards.
While prior ARC experience is beneficial, full training will be provided, and candidates from other control room environments will find some familiar elements.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and respond to a range of alarm activations, including intruder, fire, panic alarms and CCTV.
*
Use detector-activated CCTV systems, where alerts are triggered by motion detection and require immediate footage review.
*
Operate multiple software systems for:
*
CCTV monitoring
*
Workforce management (check-ins, welfare calls)
*
Vehicle tracking
*
Helpdesk and client service requests
*
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Skills & Requirements:
*
Strong IT skills with the ability to navigate and learn multiple software systems.
*
Excellent telephone manner and confident communication skills.
*
Clear and accurate report writing ability.
*
Valid SIA licence(s) and full UK driving licence (manual transmission essential).
*
Previous control room or ARC experience.
