Security Service Engineer
Location: Various locations across South East and East England (Preferred: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, North London)
Salary: £35k + Bonus OTE £45k + Travel Time Paid + Company Vehicle
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Security Service Engineer to join our clients growing and technically demanding team. The ideal candidate will have need to have 5 years of experience with networkable security systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and strong IT/networking knowledge. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and installing Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, and related electronic security systems for a diverse client base.

Responsibilities.
Service, fault-find, and install:
Intruder Alarms
IP CCTV Systems
Access Control
Door Entry Systems
External Lighting Systems
Manage network configurations including:
Port forwarding
IP conflict resolution
Remote dial-in
Complete all job paperwork in line with NSI and our clients’ standards.
Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call duty engineer rota.

Intruder Alarm Systems:
Eaton, Pyronix, AJAX, Honeywell Galaxy, Texecom
CCTV:
Hikvision (IP & TVI), AXIS, Hanwha, Pelco, Concept Pro, Adpro, Optex, RVR Solutions
Access Control:
ACT, Paxton Net2 & 10, Hikvision, Salto
Door Entry:
BPT, Fermax, Videx, Paxton (IP & analogue)
Monitoring:
RedCARE, DualCom, ARC/RVR, GSM/PSTN diallers
Other:
GUI interfaces (e.g., Hikvision Central, Cortech, Paxton)
GJD External Lighting
Strong understanding of IT networks
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00 (40 hours/week)
½ hour unpaid lunch between 12:00 – 14:00
Expected to be on-site by 08:30 unless otherwise arranged.
Overtime & Travel Pay/Overtime Rates:
Mon–Fri: x1.33
Saturday: x1.5
Sunday: x2
Premium time bands: Up to x 2.5 based on time of day/week
Travel Time:
Paid at x1.33 if travel exceeds standard 8-hour day
Travel to/from office is not paid
On-Call Duty Roster:
1 week in every 5
Allowance: £295/week
Premium call-out rates up to 2.5 x basic rate
Engineers on duty must remain sober and fit for work
The ideal candidate will need to have:
5+ years of firsthand experience in security systems
Strong understanding of IT networking (port forwarding, remote access, IP management)
Familiar with British Standards and NSI regulations
Full UK driving licence
Based in or near preferred areas for easier coverage
