1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH Support - Year 1)

We are supporting a primary school that is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 1 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a vital role where you'll help build trust, confidence, and structure in a nurturing learning environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 1 with SEMH needs.
Work alongside the class teacher and SEND team to deliver tailored interventions.
Support emotional regulation, encourage positive behaviour, and implement behaviour support strategies.
Build strong, trusting relationships with the pupil and contribute to their overall well-being and progress.
Record and report on progress, behaviours, and any safeguarding concerns.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (preferably in a school setting).
Is patient, calm, and emotionally resilient.
Can use initiative and remain consistent with boundaries and expectations.
Has a nurturing approach and a strong understanding of the importance of emotional well-being.
Understands safeguarding and child protection procedures.
