The Role -SEMH/ASD Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a passionate SEMH/ASD Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Merton. The school supports pupils aged 9-16 with high-functioning autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and SEMH.
You’ll be working closely with teachers and therapists to support pupils in small classes (no more than 10 students), using structured routines, visual aids, and sensory strategies to help regulate behaviour and promote engagement.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in autism support, emotional regulation techniques, and trauma-informed practice.
The School – Secondary SEN School
This newly renovated SEN school offers a bespoke curriculum tailored to pupils with autism and associated needs. With a strong therapeutic ethos, the school provides access to speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, art/music therapy, and mentoring.
Staff are trained in sensory routines, Zones of Regulation, and restorative practices. The school is well-connected by public transport (5 minutes from Wimbledon Chase station) and offers on-site parking, a gym, and weekly CPD.
