SEMH Teaching Assistant - Maidenhead

Are you passionate about supporting young people with their social, emotional, and mental health needs? A welcoming and supportive Secondary SEMH school in Maidenhead is looking for a committed, resilient, and inspiring SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your role will include:

Providing 1:1 support for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Supporting small groups with learning, emotional regulation, and confidence-building activities both inside and outside the classroom
Assisting with the implementation of individual support plans and behaviour strategies
Monitoring student progress, wellbeing, and engagement
Promoting a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environmentWhat we look for in an SEMH Teaching Assistant:

Strong communication and de-escalation skills
Ability to build trusting relationships with young people
An understanding of SEMH needs, trauma-informed practice, or positive behaviour support
