We are working with a vibrant, diverse 11-16 secondary school in Middlesbrough seeking to appoint a Behaviour Specialist / SEMH Teacher to join their team on a long-term basis from September (or sooner), with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on students who may be disengaged from learning or facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
You will:
Deliver engaging lessons that reignite motivation and build confidence
Work with a mix of smaller intervention groups and full class settings
Use strong behaviour management strategies to create a calm and purposeful learning environment
Support pupils to re-engage with education and achieve meaningful progress
Play a key role in the school's pastoral and behaviour support systemsWe are keen to hear from teachers who:
Hold QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
Have experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour or disengaged learners
Are confident, consistent, and capable of leading strong behaviour management
Can build positive, trusting relationships with students
