SEMH Learning Support Assistant - Lewisham, South East London Pay Rate: £95 - £115 per day Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Contract Type: Full-time | Long-Term | Temp-to-Perm Agency: Remedy Education Are you passionate about supporting young people facing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges? Are you looking for a meaningful role where you can help students re-engage with learning and thrive in a nurturing environment? Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist secondary provision in Lewisham. This setting supports students aged 11-16 who have been excluded from, or are struggling in, mainstream education. Many of the pupils present with challenging behaviour, trauma backgrounds, and additional learning or mental health needs. Role Overview: As an SEMH LSA, you'll work closely with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting both academic engagement and emotional well-being. Your ability to stay calm under pressure, build trust, and promote positive behaviour will be key to success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, including behaviour regulation and engagement strategies Assist with lesson delivery alongside teachers in a supportive and consistent manner Build strong, professional relationships with pupils to help restore confidence in learning Support the implementation of personalised learning and behaviour plans Promote emotional resilience, social development, and appropriate behaviour through daily routines Record and report behaviour, progress, and safeguarding concerns Person Specification: Experience working in an SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision setting is desirable Strong behaviour management and emotional regulation skills Empathetic, patient, and able to de-escalate challenging situations calmly A good understanding of trauma-informed practice and safeguarding principles An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply) Right to work in the UK What We Offer: Daily rate of £95 - £115, depending on experience A long-term role with opportunity for permanent placement Supportive leadership and professional development opportunities A rewarding chance to make a direct impact on young lives Apply Today If you're ready to take on a rewarding and impactful role, we want to hear from you.
