Full Job Description
We are working with an 'Outstanding' North Leeds SEND school who are currently recruiting for a full-time Learning Guide with SEMH experience to work as part of a dedicated and resourceful team.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be given an opportunity to make a positive impact on the education and lives of complex young people in the area as well as provide 1:1 support toward progression and independance.
Who are we looking for? A successful candidate would:
* Have experience in an educational setting either in mainstream schools or any other alternative provision.
* A history of working with students with Learning Needs that present in SEMH-related behaviours.
* A confident, caring, and assertive personality.
What to expect?
* Working here requires patience, confidence, and a caring attitude as the student has complex social, emotional, and mental health issues which need to be supported.
* The student has difficulties in displaying these emotions in a productive way so the use of positive behaviour management strategies may be needed.

What we will need from you:
* 2x references.
* A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to obtain one (we can assist with this part).
* Team teach Positive behaviour management certificate preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of and ideally practice of using INtensive Interaction.
