Mathematics Teacher - Alternative Provision (Long-Term) Location: Northamptonshire | Start Date: ASAP | Via Tradewind Recruitment Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established Alternative Provision (AP) in Northamptonshire in their search for a committed and inspiring Mathematics Teacher. This long-term position offers an excellent opportunity for an educator who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on the lives of secondary-aged learners who require a more personalised and supportive approach to education. This Alternative Provision caters for students who may have experienced challenges in mainstream settings, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, low engagement, or disrupted educational journeys. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, resilient, and able to create a calm, structured, and encouraging learning environment that promotes both academic progress and personal growth. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students within a small-class or one-to-one environment. Differentiate teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, abilities, and behavioural profiles. Build strong, positive relationships with students, using a nurturing and trauma-informed approach. Manage behaviour effectively with patience, consistency, and clear expectations. Track pupil progress, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to individual learning plans. Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, pastoral staff, and the wider school team. Maintain a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment that supports emotional wellbeing. What We're Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification. Experience teaching Mathematics at KS3/KS4 level. Previous experience working within an Alternative Provision, PRU, SEMH setting, or with disengaged learners. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
