Are you a compassionate, resilient, and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity to make a difference? TimePlan Education is seeking an experienced Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Bournemouth from January 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support children and young people with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs - helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
The successful candidate will:
Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH and/or additional behavioural needs.
Be confident in managing challenging behaviour in a calm, positive manner.
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to promote engagement and learning.
Bring patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
Requirements:
Previous experience working in an SEMH or similar SEN setting is desirable.
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent) are advantageous.
An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
