SEMH Primary Teacher - Bournemouth SEMH specialist school We are looking for a Therapeutic Primary Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Bournemouth. The school caters for students who cannot access mainstream education and has a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning with an onsite team of Therapy staff. The class sizes are small (typically 7 pupils per class) and focus on students' individual needs. The school is a special school supporting young people from the age of 5-11 who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties, associated with a range of special educational needs, including autism. What TimePlan are looking for - SEMH Primary Teacher Therapeutic teaching approach Experience in teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies Positive role model to support communication with a sensitive, nurturing, and consistent approach Experience with SEMH, Trauma, Sensory processing, social communication teaching background Ability to build solid and meaningful relationships with vulnerable studentsWhat you can expect from this SEMH Primary Teacher role To teach in a setting with a likeminded team who are equally as dedicated to the learning and personal development of young people Excellent facilities in a fit-for-purpose school building Experience working in specialist therapeutic settings.SEMH Primary Teacher Requirements Although this particular role requires QTS/QTLS, we want to hear from all Teachers no matter your qualifications! A nurturing, patient, empathetic and holistic approachAlthough experience teaching in SEMH specialist settings is beneficial, we would also love to hear from individuals interested in taking their first steps into SEND settings. The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997.
