A specialist Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) secondary provision in Scunthorpe is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time role (8:30 am - 3:30 pm), ideal for someone who thrives in alternative education and is confident delivering across a flexible curriculum.
What you'll do:
Plan and deliver engaging, adapted lessons across KS3 and KS4 (subject flexibility encouraged).
Create a structured, consistent, and emotionally supportive classroom environment.
Set high expectations for learning and behaviour while using positive behaviour strategies.
Work closely with support staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to promote holistic progress.
Monitor, assess, and celebrate every step of student progress.
Engage learners through creative, hands-on, and relationship-led approaches.
What you'll bring:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
Proven experience in teaching students with SEMH and/or additional needs.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management techniques.
Resilience, emotional intelligence, and the ability to build trusting relationships quickly.
A passion for alternative education and restorative practice.
