SEMH Teacher – West Yorkshire Location: West Yorkshire (various locations available) Salary: £150 – £210 per day (dependent on experience) Contract Type: Full-time, long-term, or permanent opportunities Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing Agency: The Education Network The Education Network is currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work in a specialist provision supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about making a difference and supporting pupils who require a nurturing and structured approach to learning. About the Role As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with small groups or individual pupils who have additional emotional or behavioural needs, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress. You will plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to each learner’s individual needs and EHCP targets. Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons across the curriculum Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to develop social and emotional resilience Managing behaviour effectively using positive strategies and restorative approaches Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external agencies Tracking and assessing pupil progress to ensure individual learning goals are metAbout You We are looking for a teacher who: Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs Is patient, resilient, and empathetic, with strong classroom management skills Is confident in differentiating lessons to meet varied learning needs Has a good understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive teaching practicesWhat We Offer Competitive daily rates (£150 – £210 per day) Opportunities in specialist and alternative provisions across West Yorkshire A supportive consultant experienced in SEND recruitment Access to ongoing CPD and professional development Potential for long-term or permanent employmentIf you are a passionate and committed SEMH Teacher looking to work in a rewarding and challenging environment, we would love to hear from you.
