We are currently working with several long-standing SEMH schools to find experienced Teachers and Instructors who are passionate about supporting students with complex emotional and behavioural needs. Our schools cater to both primary and secondary-age pupils, and our aim is to provide a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment where every child can thrive. The Role We are seeking qualified Teachers and experienced Instructors with a strong background in SEMH settings to join our trusted partner schools. These schools have a proven track record of providing high-quality education to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. As a Teacher or Instructor, you will be at the forefront of delivering engaging, therapeutic, and adaptive learning experiences that cater to each student's individual emotional and academic needs. Key Responsibilities: Planning & Teaching: Deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to the needs of each child, using differentiated strategies to ensure all students can access the curriculum. Emotional & Behavioural Support: Create a positive and structured classroom environment that encourages emotional regulation and effective behavioural management. Individualized Learning: Adapt teaching methods to support students with varying levels of ability and emotional complexity. Collaboration: Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other professionals to implement IEPs and behaviour management strategies. Assessment & Feedback: Track student progress and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement and support in both academic and emotional development. Qualifications & Experience Required: Qualified Teachers (QTS) or Equivalent: A recognized teaching qualification is essential. Experience in SEMH: Significant experience working with children who have social, emotional, and mental health challenges is highly desirable. Specialist Knowledge: A strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning, behaviour, and social development. Adaptability: Ability to tailor your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, often using creative and therapeutic methods. Classroom Management Skills: Strong classroom management skills, with a focus on fostering a safe and productive learning environment. Professionalism & Communication: Excellent communication skills, both with students and colleagues, to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment. Personality Traits & Skills Needed: Patience & Empathy: You must have the ability to build trust with students who may face significant emotional or behavioural challenges. Resilience: Working with SEMH students can be demanding, and resilience is essential for maintaining a positive and focused attitude in the classroom. Creative Problem-Solving: The ability to adapt your teaching methods to meet the needs of students and to handle complex situations with creativity and patience.
