Job Opportunity: SEMH Teaching Assistant Classroom-Based Location: Hulme, Manchester Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only Start Date: ASAP Salary: GBP108 - GBP135 per day (dependent on experience) Are you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health needs? We are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking school in Hulme. This role is classroom-based, working closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4 who require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs Assist in delivering tailored interventions and behaviour strategies Foster positive relationships and promote emotional regulation Support classroom routines and learning activities Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress reviewsWhat Were Looking For: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or SEN Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills A calm, empathetic, and consistent approach Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures Relevant qualifications (e.g. TA Level 2/3, Youth Work, Psychology) desirable Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable learnersWhy Join Us?
