Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Dudley, West Midlands Start Date: September 2025 Are you an experienced and empathetic Teaching Assistant with a background in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you looking for a rewarding new role this September within a well-resourced and specialist setting? Colmore Education are currently working in partnership with a highly regarded SEMH school in Dudley to recruit a skilled and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about inclusion and making a lasting impact on pupils facing significant challenges in their educational journey. About the School This is a specialist SEMH provision catering to pupils aged who present with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Many of the pupils have previously struggled in mainstream settings and require a nurturing, structured, and trauma-informed approach to learning. The school offers * Small class sizes and a high staff-to-pupil ratio. * A strong therapeutic and pastoral focus embedded across the curriculum. * An experienced leadership team committed to continuous professional development. * Access to in-house specialists and multi-agency support. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs. * Support academic engagement, emotional regulation, and behavioural strategies. * Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals. * Implement personalised learning strategies and behaviour plans. * Encourage positive routines and help students develop coping and social skills. Ideal Candidate Will Have * Previous experience working in an SEMH, PRU, or specialist SEND setting. * A calm, consistent, and reflective approach to behaviour support. * Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. * A relevant TA qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3) is desirable but not essential.
