We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our excellent supply agency and work in schools across Durham. This is a rewarding role, offering the chance to help pupils who require additional support to engage with learning, build confidence, and develop positive coping strategies.
You will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver tailored interventions, promote emotional regulation and create a calm, nurturing learning environment.
The desired SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs
The ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
An understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
A commitment to helping students achieve both academically and emotionally
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
