Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ferryhill. What you’ll be doing:
Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Helping children manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies
Assisting with classroom activities and tailored learning interventions
Building strong, trusting relationships to promote engagement and progress
Working closely with teachers and pastoral teams to create a safe, supportive environment
What we’re looking for:
Calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for helping children thrive
Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Ability to adapt to challenging situations and maintain a positive approach
Experience supporting children with SEMH or SEND needs is desirable
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting inclusion
Requirements:
Previous experience in a SEND or SEMH setting preferred
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
