SEMH Teaching Assistant – South Reading
£109 per day | ASAP Start | Full‑Time
We are currently recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) school based in South Reading, starting ASAP.
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and for Psychology or Criminology graduates looking to gain hands‑on experience within an SEMH setting.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small‑group basis
Assisting with emotional regulation, behaviour management and engagement with learning
Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
Providing consistent support within the classroom and wider school environmentIdeal Candidate:
Psychology, Criminology or related graduates encouraged to apply
Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
Confident supporting children with challenging behaviour
Keen to gain experience as a stepping stone into:
Educational Psychology
Pastoral or Behaviour Support
Youth Work / Youth Social Work
