GSL Education is proud to be working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive secondary school in Dibden Purlieu to recruit a full-time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a September start. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting students with a range of additional learning needs, including those with EHCPs, SEMH needs, and mild learning difficulties. About the Role: As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in promoting student success and wellbeing. You will be working both within the classroom and in small group or 1:1 setting, offering academic, social and emotional support tailored to individual student needs. This position is ideal for someone who is calm, nurturing and genuinely wants to make a difference. Key Responsibilities: Work alongside classroom teachers to support the learning and engagement of students with additional needs. Provide personalised interventions in literacy, numeracy and study skills, both 1:1 and in small groups. Encourage student participation and help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment. Monitor and record student progress and share feedback with teaching staff and the SENCO. Support students with their emotional wellbeing, developing trusting relationships and promoting self-confidence. Be an advocate for students with SEND, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs met. Assist with general classroom duties and contribute to wider school life. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Experience working with young people, ideally within a school or youth setting. A good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A patient, supportive and understanding approach to working with students who may face barriers to learning. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals. A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the welfare of all students. Flexibility, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting education. What GSL Education Offers: A dedicated and experienced consultant who understands your career goals and is there to support you every step of the way. Comprehensive interview preparation to help you feel confident and ready to shine. Access to long-term roles with real potential for progression. An opportunity to be part of a caring school community where you can make a lasting impact on young lives. Whether you’re an experienced LSA, a graduate considering a future in teaching, or someone with a background in care or youth work looking for a change, we’d love to hear from you.
