SEMH Teaching Assistant – Southwark – KS2/3 – £89-£110 per day (dependent on experience) – PRU School – Full time – ASAP start * SEMH Teaching Assistant required in Southwark * SEMH Teaching Assistant required to start ASAP * SEMH Teaching Assistant required in a PRU school * Must have experience working with SEMH Can you commute to the London Borough of Southwark? Do you have experience supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH)? Are you available for a full-time and long-term role? If you answered yes to the above, this SEMH Teaching Assistant role is for you! The role – SEMH Teaching Assistant For this SEMH Teaching Assistant role, you will be required to support pupils across Key Stages 2 and 3 in a Pupil Referral Unit. You will be working with students on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them to access learning and manage their emotions and behaviour in a consistent and positive way. The ideal SEMH Teaching Assistant will need to be resilient, able to build strong relationships, and committed to creating a safe and supportive learning environment. You’ll assist students both in and out of the classroom and help them re-engage with education through routine, praise, and targeted support. The school – PRU School This PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) is located in the London Borough of Southwark and caters for students aged 7–13 (KS2/KS3) who have been removed from mainstream education due to behavioural and SEMH needs. The school provides a structured and therapeutic learning environment, where staff work closely with pupils to support both their academic progress and emotional development. The school promotes emotional resilience, positive behaviour, and personalised learning. There is off-street parking available, with great transport links including a nearby Overground station and several bus routes.
