In this role, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support. You will assist with personalised strategies to manage behaviour, promote wellbeing, and support positive engagement in learning.

Main Responsibilities of an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one or small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the implementation of behaviour support plans and emotional wellbeing strategies.
Encourage positive social interaction, self-regulation, and communication skills.
Support students in managing anxiety, frustration, or challenging behaviours in a calm and consistent manner.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and families.
Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) Requirements:
Experience supporting students with SEMH or related additional needs.
CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistance, Health & Social Care, or a related qualification is desirable.
A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
