SEMH Teaching Assistant – York & Surrounding Areas Full-time or part-time | Term-time only | Long-term & flexible roles available We’re working with a fantastic Trust in the York area who need Teaching Assistants to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Roles may be based across different schools within the trust, so flexibility is key, but so is finding the right fit for you. Whether you’re looking for a long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent contract, or something more flexible that works around other commitments, we’d love to chat. The role: • Supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs to help them feel safe, supported, and ready to learn • Working 1:1 or in small groups to provide structure, consistency, and encouragement • Collaborating with staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to keep things positive and on track • Being a calm, reliable presence who helps children regulate and thrive throughout the day You’ll need: • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (SEMH, SEN, behaviour, care or youth work backgrounds are all welcome) • Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging situations • A real passion for helping pupils overcome barriers and reach their potential • A DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply At Right Education, we do things differently.
