The Role – SEMH Teaching Assistant
We are looking for a confident and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a secondary SEN school based in Ealing. In this role, you’ll support students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom may also have additional diagnoses such as ADHD or ASD.
As an SEMH TA, you will provide in-class support as well as 1:1 interventions, working closely with the class teacher and behaviour mentors to promote positive engagement and emotional regulation. You must be confident in de-escalation strategies and able to build trust with students who may have experienced trauma or disrupted education.
This role would suit someone with previous experience in PRUs, SEMH schools, or youth work, or someone with a background in psychology or behaviour support.
