SEMH Teaching Assistant – South East London

💷 Pay: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience or training in mental health and a desire to make a real impact in education?
We are working with schools in South East London who are seeking dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to join their supportive teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in mental health, youth work, or special educational needs who wants to help students reach their full potential.
The Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Help pupils develop coping strategies, resilience and positive behaviours.
Support classroom learning alongside the teacher.
Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement.
Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment.The Ideal Candidate:
Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or behaviour needs.
Training or qualifications in mental health (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, counselling, psychology background).
A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours positively.Benefits:
