About the Role
A well-regarded primary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team from 13th October. This unique role will be split between supporting pupils in the mainstream primary setting and working within the school's specialist SEMH provision, providing tailored support to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils regulate emotions, build resilience, and engage positively with learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children who require additional emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
Assist children with reintegration between the mainstream classroom and SEMH provision.
Implement strategies to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral staff.
Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children.
Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
