SEMH Tutor - Central London & Surrounding Areas About the Opportunity Prospero Teaching is looking for dedicated SEMH Tutors to deliver bespoke 1:1 tuition to children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Central London and surrounding areas. As an SEMH Tutor, you will plan and deliver tailored lessons that support both academic progress and emotional development. This role is ideal for experienced teachers, tutors, mentors or support professionals who are passionate about helping vulnerable learners re-engage with education. Many of the young people we support may be out of education, at risk of exclusion, experiencing anxiety, displaying challenging behaviours, or struggling to access mainstream schooling. The successful SEMH Tutor will be confident building positive relationships, creating engaging learning experiences, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. Tuition can take place in a range of settings, including the young person's home, school, local library, foster placement, or alternative provision. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you throughout each placement, providing ongoing support and monitoring pupil progress to ensure the best outcomes for every learner. Contract / Position Details Location: Central London and surrounding areas Position: SEMH Tutor Type of Work: 1:1 Outreach Tuition Duration: Ongoing, dependent on individual student requirements Hours: Flexible Minimum Rate of Pay: £25 per hour Session Length: Typically between 1 and 3 hours per session Experience, Training and Qualifications QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification preferred Graduates, tutors, mentors and support staff with relevant SEMH experience will also be considered Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people within the UK Experience supporting children with SEMH needs, autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, or behavioural difficulties is highly desirable Experience delivering 1:1 interventions or tuition is advantageous Up-to-date Safeguarding Training issued within the last year (desirable but not essential) To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must: Hold the Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two yearsIf you would like to be considered for this role, please apply with a copy of your up to date CV.
