Job Description
Do you have experience delivering 1:1 tuition to students with SEND needs?
Are you confident supporting children with SEMH and ASD in a home environment?
Do you have the ability to deliver engaging cross-curricular sessions tailored to individual learners?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a local authority provision that provides in-home tuition for students who are unable to access mainstream education. The service focuses on creating a supportive, structured environment where students can re-engage with learning and build confidence.
The provision is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Tutor on a temporary basis, providing 1:1 cross-curricular tuition to students with SEMH and ASD. The successful SEND Tutor will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised sessions, adapting learning materials, and supporting emotional regulation and engagement.
The successful SEND Tutor will have:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEND, particularly SEMH and ASD
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience, ideally in a 1:1 setting
• Strong understanding of cross-curricular delivery
• Ability to build positive relationships and manage challenging behaviours
• Patience, resilience and a nurturing approach
• A flexible and proactive attitude
