Job Description

SEN Duty Coordinator Location: Enfield Salary: £31.61 Per Hour Contract Type: Full-time | Hybrid working available Expected to last 3 months with a possible extension Role Summary: We are seeking a proactive and adaptable SEN Duty Coordinator to support the delivery of high-quality services within the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Service. This is a flexible, non-caseload-holding role designed to provide essential cover during periods of staff absence or peak workload (e.g. phased transfers), ensuring statutory responsibilities around EHCPs are met. Key Responsibilities: * Provide temporary casework support during absences and busy periods across the SEN service. * Lead and support EHC needs assessments and annual reviews within statutory timelines. * Coordinate multi-agency meetings with families and professionals, ensuring outcome-focused, person-centred plans. * Contribute to placement decisions, funding assessments, and SEND panel preparation. * Support induction of new staff and contribute to service improvement initiatives. * Represent the team in mediation, resolution meetings, and tribunal preparation as needed. * Maintain accurate records and champion the use of case management systems. Essential Requirements: * Experience managing complex caseloads in a high-pressure, customer-focused setting. * Strong working knowledge of the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice. * Excellent written communication and organisational skills. * High level of emotional intelligence, resilience, and stakeholder engagement ability. * Ability to work collaboratively, adapt quickly, and deliver results under pressure. * GCSE English A*-C / 9–4 (or equivalent). Desirable: * Experience in a statutory or litigious service. * Understanding of school processes, National Curriculum, and SEND funding. * Access to a car for borough-wide visits
