This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) in a supportive school environment.
We are recruiting passionate and enthusiastic Graduate SEN Learning Support Assistants to work in a range of outstanding SEN schools and alternative provisions across North Birmingham. These roles are ideal for graduates considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, therapy, or social care.
Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a variety of SEN including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
Help pupils engage in learning activities, adapt tasks, and build social/emotional confidence
Support class teachers in delivering tailored lessons in line with students’ EHCPs
Assist with personal care or behaviour support plans where required
Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to ensure consistent student progress
Requirements:
A degree in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field
A genuine interest in supporting children with additional learning needs
Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
Ability to commit to full-time, term-time hours (Monday–Friday, approx. 8:30am–4:00pm)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
