Learning Support Assistant – SEN School, Salisbury
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a warm, supportive, and specialist SEN school in the Salisbury area. This role is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, confident, and passionate about helping children with additional needs grow in confidence, independence, and learning.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide support to pupils with a wide range of needs, including ASD, SLD, PMLD, and communication difficulties.
Assist with personal care, moving and handling, and the use of hoists when required.
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning throughout the school day.
Adapt calmly to changes in behaviour, routine, or emotional regulation.
Build strong, trusting relationships that promote engagement, wellbeing, and progress.

Requirements
To be considered for this Learning Support Assistant role, you should:
Be patient, flexible, and nurturing.
Ideally have experience supporting children or young people (education or care).
Have your own transport (desirable due to location).
Be comfortable working with pupils who require 1:1 and small-group support.
Have or be willing to develop behaviour management strategies.
Be familiar with needs such as ASD, SLD, PMLD (beneficial).
Be willing to support with personal care and moving & handling.
Be open to completing relevant CPD training.
Preferably hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
Salary
£88.92-£91 Per day, depending on experience, training, and qualifications.
