Smile Education is working with a highly regarded SEN secondary school in Cheshire to recruit a SEN Learning Support Assistant. This is a full-time role supporting students with autism in a well-resourced, supportive, and inclusive setting.
SEN Learning Support Assistant – Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to secondary-aged students with ASC
Assist in delivering personalised learning plans, under teacher guidance
Support pupils’ emotional and social development
Encourage independence and confidence inside and outside the classroom
Use the school’s excellent facilities, including forest school areas
Some personal care duties may be required
Work as part of a passionate and skilled SEN team
Requirements:
Relevant SEN/Teaching Assistant qualification OR degree (e.g. Psychology, Education)
Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (ASC preferred)
Calm, patient, and proactive personality
Strong communication skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
A willingness to learn and take on new challenges
