SEN Learning Support Worker (SEMH Focus)
Location: Luton
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time - 16 - 21 hours per week
Salary: £12,609 – £13,891 (Pro Rata)
Start Date: 26th August 2025

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Learning Support Worker to provide targeted 1:1 support for learners aged 16–19 who require additional SEMH intervention. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity, perfect for someone looking to make a lasting impact on learners’ academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, person-centred 1:1 support to students with SEMH needs.
Work collaboratively with students, families, and staff to assess individual needs, triggers, and learning goals.
Develop and implement tailored support strategies, focusing on emotional regulation, exam anxiety, and mental wellbeing.
Support students in building confidence, resilience, and self-esteem to help them engage with learning and work towards their future aspirations.
Offer indirect academic support by helping students manage emotional and mental health barriers that impact progress.We’re looking for someone who:
Has relevant experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, preferably in an education setting.
Understands the challenges faced by adolescents with social, emotional, or academic mental health needs.
Is empathetic, patient, and an excellent communicator, with strong active listening skills.
Can build trust and rapport with young people, encouraging engagement and personal growth.
