We are supporting a Chorley-based SEN school in appointing an individual to work with a 12-year-old female pupil who follows a primary curriculum pathway. The young person experienced an acquired brain injury in early childhood, which has impacted her cognitive development, resulting in moderate learning difficulties. She is fully mobile, lively, playful and has a warm, engaging personality. Due to her energetic nature, we are seeking someone who can match her enthusiasm and provide consistent academic and emotional support. The pupil is deaf but communicates effectively through lip reading and the use of a clicker device. The successful applicant will therefore be someone who can communicate clearly, adapt their approach, and maintain the young person’s focus, motivation and enjoyment of learning. We are looking for someone who: Has experience working within SEN or educational support settings. Can build a strong, trusting relationship with a young person. Is personable, patient, engaging and confident in supporting diverse needs. Can provide academic reinforcement and help sustain the pupil’s concentration. Is energetic, proactive and enjoys interactive learning and play-based engagement. Can drive and has access to their own vehicle (essential due to outreach requirements). Role Overview: The role includes supporting the young person within her school environment in the afternoons, followed by community-based outreach activities such as after-school clubs, swimming and enrichment sessions. This is an exceptionally rewarding position for someone who enjoys making a meaningful difference to the life of a kind, sociable and enthusiastic young person. What we offer: Competitive hourly pay. Additional travel allowance. Ongoing support from Teaching Personnel. A highly rewarding role with meaningful impact. If you are an experienced SEN practitioner who is enthusiastic, relationship-focused and keen to support a wonderful young person in both educational and community settings, we would welcome your application.
