Job Description

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a SEN Outreach Worker to join Calderdale Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Duties

  * Deliver high-quality, targeted interventions for children and young people with SEND, particularly within communication and language

  * Work directly with children on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting development and engagement

  * Create and adapt specialist resources and intervention programmes tailored to individual needs

  * Support schools and settings to implement effective SEND strategies and best practice

  * Build strong relationships with schools, families, and multi-agency professionals

  * Provide advice, guidance, and training to education staff to build capacity within settings

  * Monitor progress and contribute to reports, reviews, and EHCP processes

  * Support early identification of needs and help remove barriers to learning

Requirements:

  * Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally within an education setting

  * Strong understanding of Communication & Language needs (C&L)

  * Experience delivering structured interventions and creating learning resources

  * Knowledge of specific learning needs such as dyslexia, working memory, or processing difficulties
