Job Description
Job Title: SEN Teacher (QTS) – MLD Specialist
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Contract Type: Full-Time, Long term
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier if available)
About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to join a supportive MLD-specialist SEN school in Walsall. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching to pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties, some of whom may also have additional needs such as ASD, speech and language difficulties, or ADHD.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
*
Develop and implement EHCP targets in collaboration with the wider SEN team
*
Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that supports academic and personal development
*
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure effective support and progress
*
Contribute to whole-school development and SEN best practice
Requirements:
*
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – Essential
*
Previous experience in an SEN setting, ideally with MLD learners
*
Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service covering Child and Adult Workforce – Essential
*
Strong knowledge of SEN Code of Practice and differentiated curriculum planning
*
Positive, resilient, and proactive approach to teaching and learningBefore You Apply
