Job Description

Teaching Personnel Liverpool is seeking to appoint two experienced and committed SEN/SEMH Teachers for long-term positions within a well-regarded Secondary School located in the Wirral. These roles are available for an immediate start and are suitable for teachers with a strong background in supporting pupils with a wide range of additional needs. The school caters for students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Special Educational Needs (SEN), communication and interaction difficulties, and varying levels of behavioural and learning challenges. These positions offer the opportunity to work within a supportive environment focused on improving educational outcomes and personal development. Key Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learner needs, including those identified within EHCPs. Create and maintain a safe, supportive and structured learning environment. Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy. Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders, parents/carers and external agencies. Monitor, assess and document pupil progress, ensuring targeted intervention where required. Contribute to the wider pastoral and safeguarding framework within the school. Essential Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS. Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN and/or SEMH needs, either within a mainstream or specialist setting. Strong behaviour management skills, with the ability to maintain a calm and consistent approach. A commitment to supporting young people with complex needs and promoting positive engagement. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel. Full availability for an immediate and ongoing assignment.
