Job Title: SEN/SEMH Teacher (KS3-KS5) - Alternative Provision
Location: Barnoldswick
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £30,000
Start Date: ASAP through to September
We're looking for a passionate and resilient teacher - or an experienced HLTA (Level 4) ready to step into teaching - to join our Alternative Provision team.
We are an inclusive, student-centred Alternative Provision in Barnoldswick serving learners with complex SEN and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across Key Stages 3 to 5. Many of our students have EHCPs and have faced barriers to education in mainstream settings. We're seeking an educator who is flexible, emotionally intelligent, and truly committed to making a difference.
About the Role:
Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual needs
Foster a safe, supportive, and consistent classroom environment
Work collaboratively with a skilled team including the SENCO, pastoral staff, and therapists
Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support behaviour and emotional regulation
Support EHCP outcomes through personalised planning and regular assessment
Who Should Apply?
We welcome applications from:
ECT Teachers (QTS/QTLS) with SEN/SEMH experience
HLTAs (Level 4 or equivalent) with a strong track record in leading lessons and a clear desire to move into teaching
What You'll Bring:
A strong understanding of SEN and SEMH needs
Experience working in alternative provision, PRUs, or specialist settings
A creative, adaptive approach to teaching and learning
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable learners
A belief in the potential of every young person
