SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Portsmouth Pay: £13.75 per hour (Paid weekly) Contract Type: Term Time Only, Monday to Friday Do you have an interest in supporting children with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistants to work in specialist schools across Hampshire. These settings support SEN and SEMH pupils aged 4-19 with a range of additional needs, including: Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Attachment disorders and trauma Physical disabilities and mobility needs Anxiety or school-based phobias Communication and speech and language difficulties Role Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with Special Needs Assist teachers with delivering tailored learning programmes to students who have differentiated ability levels Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment Work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families What We’re Looking For: Experience in education, care, youth work, or SEN Patience, empathy, and a calm, supportive approach Resilient nature with the ability to effectively manage challenging behaviours Passion for making a positive impact on young people’s lives Strong communication and teamwork skills Why Join Teaching Personnel?
