Job Description
These pupils are out of mainstream education and need a tutor who can re-engage them in learning, rebuild their confidence, and help them structure their daily routine. Many of these young people have complex SEN, are SEMH pupils, may display challenging behaviours, and may even require 2:1 support.
As a SEN Specialist Tutor, you will:
Create, plan and deliver bespoke 1:1 lessons tailored to bridge learning gaps and increase engagement and attainment.
Teach Functional Skills (English and Maths) and support wider learning objectives.
Work with pupils who have been disengaged from education for a prolonged period.
Support students with communication and language needs and help build core learning and life skills.
Monitor student progress and work closely with Prospero's Learning Delivery Team for continued support and guidance
You will be a compassionate, adaptable and patient education professional, committed to helping vulnerable learners succeed. The ideal candidate will have:
A relevant qualification: ABA trained, SEND Level 3, EYFS or equivalent.
12+ months of experience working with SEN pupils.
6+ months experience in a UK school setting.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to support language development.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (preferred but not essential).
You Must:
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Have an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for a new one).
Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.
