Schedule: Flexible hours, choose between morning, noon or evening sessions.
Are you an experienced SEN practitioner ready to make a lasting impact on vulnerable learners this September? Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with Havering council to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children who are out of mainstream education and require focused support in Maths and English.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity for tutors who believe in inclusive education, who have the skills and patience to support students with diverse needs in a flexible setting.
What You'll be Doing:
Deliver engaging, 1:1 Functional Skills sessions in Maths and/or English tailored to each learner's academic level and EHCP targets.
Support students with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD and SEMH.
Use calm, consistent strategies to build positive learning relationships and nurture engagement over time.
Liaise with families, carers, and local professionals to ensure continuity and meaningful progress.
Foster a safe, empowering learning environment where every student feels heard and capable.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience supporting students with SEN in an educational or therapeutic setting.
Proven experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills and/or GCSE-level Maths or English.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desired Experience:
SEN Qualifications, ABA Training, or experience with Autism-specific strategies ( PECS, TEACCH)
PGCE or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working in an alternative provisions, home education settings, or on a 1:! basis outside the classroom.
