SEN Support Worker Location: Poole Salary: £13.68 – £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience) Start Date: Immediate or September 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you a compassionate and motivated individual with a passion for supporting young people with special educational needs? GSL Education are working in partnership with a specialist school in Poole that caters to students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex communication needs, and learning difficulties. We are seeking a full-time SEN Support Worker to provide dedicated assistance and care to pupils, enabling them to access learning, develop essential life skills, and achieve their personal goals. About the Role: As a SEN Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure pupils receive personalised and consistent care. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment that promotes independence and emotional well-being. Responsibilities of SEN Support Worker: Provide one-to-one and group support for students with a variety of special educational needs Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes in line with students' EHCPs Foster positive relationships to support communication, social interaction, and behaviour management Support students in overcoming emotional, social, and academic challenges Work collaboratively with teaching staff to adapt materials and approaches to individual needs Promote independence and participation in daily routines and school life Assist with personal care tasks when required, always maintaining dignity and respect Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents where appropriate SEN Support Worker Requirements: Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly autism, communication needs, and complex behaviours CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualifications in Childcare, Support Work, or Education are desirable Calm, resilient, and empathetic with a student-centred approach Understanding of EHCPs, visual schedules, and positive behaviour support Commitment to safeguarding and child protection Why Join GSL Education?
