Key Responsibilities of the SEN Support Worker:
Provide individual and group support to pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring access to tailored learning opportunities.
Promote inclusivity and respect by supporting pupils to engage positively with peers and staff in both academic and social settings.
Encourage independence and personal growth, guiding pupils to develop confidence, life skills, and resilience within a nurturing environment.
Support emotional well-being and behaviour management, helping pupils to feel safe, understood, and motivated in their learning journey.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and professionals to implement individualised strategies and celebrate the achievements of every child.
Ideal Candidate Requirements of the SEN Support Worker:
Experience or genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
Commitment to inclusivity and respect, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported within a diverse school community.
Patience, empathy, and adaptability, with the resilience to respond effectively to a variety of individual needs and behaviours.
Ability to work collaboratively within a dedicated team, contributing to individualised learning plans and promoting independence and joyful engagement for all pupils.
Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
