Job Description
SEN TA:
Prospero Teaching are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support young people with SEN & SEMH needs at an Alternative Provision in Wigan.
Often the students in this provision will have autism, ADHD, SEMH, or trauma, and are disengaged from mainstream education.
This is a specialist provision with a therapeutic focus on engaging young people in education.
You must have experience working with children who display challenging behaviours, preferably with de-escalation training. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, understanding and keen to support young people who need that little bit extra. You must be confident working on a 1-1 basis and be comfortable dealing with students who may display more complex or challenging behaviours.
Contract Details:
Role: SEN TA
Location: Wigan
Hours: 0830:1530 (during term time)
Minimum rate of pay: £95 per day (dependant on experience)
Type of work: Temporary
Full time/part time: Full time only
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
Up to date Safeguarding training in the last year (can be provided if needed)
Previous experience with Team Teach training, or willing to be trained in it
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant is preferred
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional references
